I unconditionally love them and will never destroy a bridge, build a wall or close a gate that unite us; and I expect to be treated the same way. I am no better or worse than anyone else, and my spiritual journey is no different from other people's journey who were in similar circumstances, such as living in a country where an aggressive, official atheism was an integral part of the political structure and later becoming immigrant in another country, learning a new language, adapting to a new way of life and continuing this earthly pilgrimage. It is written directly from my memory; therefore, some dates might not be exact, but the events are as clear in my mind as at the time of their occurrence. It's a journey from oppression to freedom and a profound expression of gratitude to Spain, which made the journey faster and easier by granting our visas in less than four hours and allowed us to stay in that beautiful and hospitable country for almost five months, and to our adoptive motherland, the United States of America, for welcoming us to the land of the free and the home of the brave. The very difficult situations described in this book had a positive aspect, because each one of them made our character stronger and our faith firmer as a gift from God, whose power and mercy we felt every time there was a problem that we could not solve in our own. It is not necessary to add anything else at this time. The book presents a clear narrative of the journey where the reader may also find diversity-a recently used and abused concept-at work. I let the reader discover the character-building struggles and the spiritual growth that was directly proportional to the intensity of the hardships and overt or covert persecution. As Father Mérito González said in Spain during a homily: 'How do we know our strengths without tests and trials ' Let's make faith, hope and love the most important pillars of life and we will find that with God we can cross raging waters walking on a bridge of rotten wood.Enjoy.…

I hope this book helps to open the minds, hearts and souls of those who supervise people at any level of the organization, and not only the doors of theirs offices, to listen to what the employees want or need to say. They may be right or wrong as anybody else. If they are right, tell them what you plan to do, act accordingly and provide them with frequent feedback; if they are wrong, explain to them why they are wrong in a clear and specific manner. Organizations must make sure that supervisors are instructed to be available to their direct reports and listen to them. Fear, the main reason for employees not to speak to their supervisors, must be removed from the work environment because it closes the doors to many good ideas including significant cost saving suggestions, erodes people's commitment, causes decrease in productivity and increase in employee turnover among other diseases. Sometimes the lack of communication is not necessary caused by fear but by supervisors who apparently are listening to employees without taking any action or providing adequate feedback. People understand yes followed by action and feedback, and they understand no when the reasons are clearly explained to them; but there is something that people can't understand and usually creates anger, resentment and frustration: to be ignored.…
