Handsomely bound in contemporary full vellum with brown morocco title labels to spine. Folding frontis copperplate and 4 folding copperplate engraved plates. Vol I: [10], LVI, 858 p. ; Vol II : [10], p. 859-1316, 159 p. Mounted to the front pastedown is the armorial bookplate of Thomas Falconer with four lozenges below the shield indicating earlier Falconer lineage; below this is mounted a later bookplate of Joseph M. Gleason. Snugly bound in bright clean vellum with just mild shelf rub to extremities. Almost imperceptible to the base of the spines are the impressions of a library catalogue numbers, though there are no library attachments or stamps, only a small 5 character number stamp on the versos of the title pages. Expected but mild scattered foxing; brown totning to the pages around the text block of most of the text. A handsome and well preserved example. VG+ .
