Este estudio colectivo se propone contrib…uir a llenar ese vacío crítico. En primer lugar, es importante destacar que el libro se abre con dos imprescindibles conferencias inéditas que la escritora uruguaya dictó los días 13 y 28 de octubre del año 2008, coincidiendo con su estancia en Madrid como invitada en el programa Poeta en Residencia de la Residencia de Estudiantes, y que se revelan fundamentales para conocer tanto su formación intelectual como los matices de su poética: ?Lo que me ofreció el mundo cuando empecé a escribir? y ?Lo que traté de hacer con ello? Por otra parte, el libro incorpora una personalísima entrevista titulada "Una mujer sin reloj. Conversación con Ida Vitale", entrevista realizada por Néstor Sanguinetti y Margarita Muñiz. Sin embargo, el aporte más valioso del libro lo constituyen los 12 trabajos críticos de prestigiosos investigadores de Uruguay, México, Estados Unidos y España que están articulados en torno a tres ejes críticos: "Observación natural y señas del canto", que se centra en la importancia de la naturaleza en su poesía, "Diálogos con la tradición, aprendizajes, huellas" que contiene artículos que exploran las conexiones intertextuales de su obra con diversas tradiciones literarias y "Fisuras, umbrales y hallazgos del lenguaje: poética y poesía". Por último, una sección de homenajes creativos de poetas internacionales pone el broche de oro al libro con colaboraciones de Perú, Venezuela, Colombia, España, Uruguay o México. Las dos jornadas de conferencias, mesas redondas, lecturas e intervenciones que el Centro Cultural de España en Montevideo organizó en diciembre de 2019, arropadas por la singular y atractiva exposición ?Idamanía?, fueron cruciales para dar visibilidad, estimular y promover la escritura de trabajos críticos, investigaciones de calado y tesis doctorales acerca de la obra de Vitale, cuya ausencia flagrante en los programas, libros de textos y manuales de las aulas de educación primaria, secundaria y universitaria, tanto en Europa como en América, sea quizá una de las carencias más notorias en planes de estudio e investigaciones. Considero que más allá de los premios y reconocimientos, de los doctorados Honoris Causa, la obra de una autora, de un autor, está viva porque la leemos. El interés de Fernanda Trías y Jerónimo Pizarro, del Departamento de Humanidades y Literatura de la Universidad de los Andes, quienes han propuesto una edición colombiana del presente compendio crítico, supuso un estímulo adicional en su elaboración que no puedo dejar de referir. *** Nota: Los envíos a España peninsular, Baleares y Canarias se realizan a través de mensajería urgente.
