0. Message from the Darkroom. Photography: History and Aesthetics. Pref. by Fulvio Ferrari. Torino 2006. Verlag der Buchhandlung Walther König, Köln. 4to. 446 S. mit 309 meist ganzseit. s/w-Abb. & 15 mont. Farbtafeln, Index, Ppbd. - Sehr guter Zustand.

0. Casa del Sole. With Carlo Mollino's unpublished article "Country Architecture in the Upper Aosta Valley". Torino 2007. 22 x 28 cm. 128 S. mit 234 (144 farb.) teils ganzseit. Abb. Gebunden. In engl. Sprache. "Everything is permissible as long as it is fantastic," Carlo Mollino once said, accurately describing his attitude towards design and architecture. Known as one of the most versatile architects of the twentieth century, Mollino, an amazing sportsman and inspiring creative force in many fields, designed a 23-apartment, Modernist ski chalet called Casa del Sole (House of the Sun) in Cevinia, Italy, in 1947. It is a perfect example of the lively complexity typical of his work. This beautifully produced, clothbound volume with a tipped-on cover image develops as a sort of architectural novel, including drawings, photographs and writings by Mollino about the design and building process.

0. Maniera Moderna. Catalogue ed. by Chris Dercon. Munich 2011. Photographien von Armin Linke. Text von Luca Cerizza, Beatriz Colomina, Kurt Forster & Wilfried Kuehn. München 2011/12. 312 S. mit 396 (181 farb.) teils ganzseit. Abb., brosch. - Text in engl. Sprache. Photographs by Armin Linke / Drawings and Photographs from the Carlo Mollino Archive / Casa Mollino / Choreographies / Montage / Publications / Display / Appropriations. ***** "Maniera Moderna" is dedicated to the multi-faceted work of the Italian architect, designer and photographer Carlo Mollino. His surrealist roots are evident in the black and white photography and interiors of the 1930s, right through to his later work in the elegant Teatro Regio and his highly-staged erotic Polaroids. However, he was also inspired to create the most individual of designs by the Futurism of Gaudí, Niemeyer and Le Corbusier. His extravagant furniture, which he produced in limited numbers or as unique pieces, is still extremely sought after. It is an expression of the designer's extraordinary fantasy: chairs can look like deer, the ribs of a table like the human spinal column, backrests like skis. This monograph is divided into six chapters: choreography, montage, publications, display, appropriations and techniques, which impressively highlight the correspondences within Mollino's wide-ranging and heterogeneous oeuvre.

HB, 240 x 200 mm, 112 p, 40 illustraties E/ IT edition. ISBN 9788836646302. The complex and refined creative imagination of Carlo Mollino - an eclectic personality of the Italian twentieth century - is the common thread that unites the research documented in these pages, which combines a selection of photographs from the fifties and sixties, shot by Mollino himself, with the works of Enoc Perez and Brigitte Schindler, artists united by a visionary spirit aimed at experimentation. The volume opens with the shots of the splendid and provocative models portrayed by Mollino (Turin, 1905-1973), through which the author on the one hand explores the beauty of female nature and on the other aims to compose an image - subjective and transfigured - of the woman as the ideal counterpart of his existence. Enoc Perez (San Juan, Puerto Rico, 1967) began a personal investigation in the nineties on a series of iconic twentieth-century architectures, which he transposed into paintings with an indefinite, sometimes dreamlike flavor: among these stands out Casa Mollino - the architect's last enigmatic and secret residence, which now houses the Museum -, visited by the painter in 2019 and the subject of the works presented here. The same house, designed by Mollino down to the smallest detail and conceived as a mirror of his worldview, was a source of inspiration for Brigitte Schindler (Munich, 1972), whose photographs intercept the mystery suspended in the rooms, the subtle connections between the objects carefully chosen and positioned by the owner. The volume includes contributions by Mario Diacono, Fulvio Ferrari, Enoc Perez and Brigitte Schindler, together with extracts from "The message from the dark room" by Carlo Mollino. 700 g.
