Tight binding, the plates sharp and vey pointed, both aesthetically and politically. "Leaves from the Sketch-Book of a Traveller, During the Winter of 1864-5".

Wide 12mo (larger format than usually seen - measuring 6 x 7.5 inches), original pink cloth with beveled edges; gilt-stamped title emblem on cover (spine evenly faded). New York: Carleton, 1865 [title page roman numerals erroneously read MDCLXV]. First Edition. - Sabin 10902.

Humorously captioned illustrations, the second in a series of 4 titles by the artist.
