Institution name gilt stamped in small lettering at the foot of the spine, though there are no ex-library stamps or other markings within the contents or anywhere else on the volume. A near fine copy; contents itself clean and without apparent signs of use, light toning to front wrapper above and below contents banner, which has a tape repair.

Inheriting the family estate of Halston Hall, Whittington, at just two years old, Mytton was soon expelled from both Westminster and Harrow before turning his mischief on a string of private tutors.With accounts and anecdotes of his extravagant spending, hunts, debts, and correspondence, a handful of which are between Mytton and the author of this biography, 'Nimrod' the pseudonym of Charles James Apperley (c. 17771843), a sportsman and sporting writer. Bound in a half morocco binding with marbled paper boards. Externally, very smart. Slight rubbing to boards resulting in very slight loss to marbled boards. Slight discolouration to perimeters of paper boards. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities. One or two very minor handling marks to boards.
