Institution name gilt stamped in small lettering at the foot of the spine, though there are no ex-library stamps or other markings within the contents or anywhere else on the volume. A near fine copy; contents itself clean and without apparent signs of use, light toning to front wrapper above and below contents banner, which has a tape repair.

Inheriting the family estate of Halston Hall, Whittington, at just two years old, Mytton was soon expelled from both Westminster and Harrow before turning his mischief on a string of private tutors.With accounts and anecdotes of his extravagant spending, hunts, debts, and correspondence, a handful of which are between Mytton and the author of this biography, 'Nimrod' the pseudonym of Charles James Apperley (c. 17771843), a sportsman and sporting writer. Bound in a half morocco binding with marbled paper boards. Externally, very smart. Slight rubbing to boards resulting in very slight loss to marbled boards.
