A poetical election handbill in favour of Earl Jermyn, Frederick William Hervey, 1800 - 1864,( 2nd Marquess of Bristol ), he was the Tory MP for Bury St. Edmunds from 1826 until 1859. The date of the election this handbill refers to is unclear as there is no date of publication, however it may refer to the 1859 election as the first verse begins ' Have pity on on old MP' and the last verse begins ' Let's rally round the old boy's flag' at the time he would have been 59 years old. A seemingly unrecorded handbill. COPAC ( on - line 12 / 09 ) does not trace this Bury St. Edmund's printing.
