January 28, 1924 d. January 28, 1976) was a Belgian poet, filmmaker and artist. He struggled with poverty for twenty years as a poet, before the idea of inventing something insincere dawned on him which began with the production of objects such as embedding fifty unsold copies of his book of poems Pense-Bête in plaster as "a concrete gesture", in which one cannot access the book without destroying the sculpture, passing this prohibition along to the viewer.
