Zustand: Good. Black and white promotional postcard, 8.5" x 4". Very good. Includes black and white photography. References poets Francine du Plessix Gray, Guy Mendes in addition to Paul Metcalf, Ronald Johnson, Basil Bunting, Simon Cutts, Thomas Meyer, Joel Oppenheimer and JW. Text on back reads: "The GOTHAM BOOK MART invites you to a Valentine's Day Party in honor of the JARGON SOCIETY (Jonathan Williams, director) and its twenty-five years of publishing." Event is dated 2/14/1976. Herb Yellin (1935-2014) was the highly respected publisher and founder of Lord John Press, considered by many to be one of the most important small presses of the 20th century. His close personal relationships with many significant writers resulted in an impressive number of unique, collectible, signed limited edition books. Working with some of modern literature's biggest names-Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, John Updike, Eudora Welty, and Joyce Carol Oates among them-and entertaining his personal fascination with Hollywood, Yellin was able to create a new realm for Lord John Press combining the two fields; several books, including The Lord John Film Festival, were the result.

No Binding. Zustand: Very Good. Single 11 x 17 inch sheet, folded twice. Discoloring along the folds, with some light tan spotting overall and wear to the edges. Still, a helpful compendium of dozens of titles by or illustrated by Gorey listed for sale by the New York bookstore that championed his work and who became almost synonymous with his career. The list itself, although not signed by Gorey, is almost as enchanting to read as one of his fine books. Book.
