Exceedingly rare travelogue of the Balearic islands - perhaps the first published account of Ibiza given by a woman traveller. Bound for Ibiza, Baroness Yella Spens-Booden boarded the steamer "Union" in Palma de M…allorca. During the one-day sea voyage, she fondly recollects the highlights of her stay in Mallorca, mentioning the splendid Miramar residence of Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria (1847-1915), as well as his famous steam-yacht "Nixe" lying in the port of Sóller with "adorable" dogs and monkeys frolicking on deck. In Ibiza, the travelogue describes the places the baroness visited during her three-day stay, including the cathedral of Santo Domingo, the towns of Es Cubells and Santa Eulalia, the small church San Francisco de Paula, and the surrounding "salinas" - large saltworks producing salt of "exquisite quality", a significant factor of the economy on the island. - No copies traceable in any institutions online.
