Full page illustrations some coloured showing the guns, bullets, bayonets, service swords etc + folding tables and numerous text illustrations mostly from drawings. Many of the blank pages and some text pages have handwritten related notes. The top part blank margin of the title page partly cut away with ink name underneath, R.W Thsiuces ? Old repair to the front advert page. Recased in the original binding with spine relayed, fading to the cloth. "Based in part on Lt Col Sladens "Principals of Gunnery" and an article on breech loaders by W.P. Marshall" etc. These H.M.S.O hand books seldom appear in good condition and quite scarce more so with manuscript notes. Riling 1141.
