Zustand: Very good minus. First printing. Ron Silliman's copy of his friend Larry Eigner's verse collection, first trade edition with Silliman's ownership signature. "When I started gathering poetry for a journal that would become TOTTEL'S in 1969, [Eigner] was one of the first writers whose work I solicited," Ron Silliman would write of his friend Larry Eigner. Silliman would go on to include Eigner in his groundbreaking anthology IN THE AMERICAN TREE, and dedicated one of his best-known poems, "For Larry Eigner, Silent" which first appeared in 2002's BEST AMERICAN POETRY (and was later included in THE ALPHABET) to the poet. Upon its publication in 2010, Silliman would call THE COLLECTED POEMS OF LARRY EIGNER "the most powerful & substantial book of this millennium."
