Junto a ellas yacían veintitrés poemas compuestos en 1964 por su amigo Bob Dylan como glosa o complemento de esas imágenes. «Era el manuscrito perdido: todos lo habían olvidado», explicaría Feinstein. Tan perdido estaba, al menos en los laberintos de la memoria, que el propio autor no recordaba haberlo escrito. Los versos se atienen a la partitura del desconcierto lírico que Dylan forjaba por aquellas fechas, una poética de la arbitrariedad (o sea, del libre arbitrio) que le permitía sacudir metáforas rigurosamente aleatorias, oraciones estrictamente agramaticales, neologismos inclementes, puntuaciones feroces, hermetismos, equívocos, juegos o jugarretas de palabras, pasajes narrativos, sarcasmos, penas, cariños, bromas, vulgaridades, anécdotas privadas, alusiones literarias o cinematográficas (cómo no), maneras del blues, tonos de balada e influencias líquidas o gaseosas (aunque la de Ginsberg era entonces bastante sólida).
