This is a limited edition work of one hundred copies, printed at The Prairie Press in Iowa City, from hand-set Centaur and Arrighi types. The paper is Strathmore laid text, and the cover is Fabriano from Italy. With the author's signed presentation letter bound in to the front, the paper being headed with the address of the Drake on Spruce Street in Philadelphia. The letter is addressed to a Stanley Scott, with a label to the rear pastedown, 'Stanley Scott, The Bothy, 42 Coronation Street, Chard, Somerset'. 'The Pepper Shaker' includes the poems 'Obiter Trivia', 'Pinchbeck Midas', 'Cynic's Vade Mecum', 'Capsule Credo', 'Comedie Humaine', and more. Walter Hart Blumenthal was an American scholar and writer. He had many academic interested, such as book collecting, Judaism, and Shakespearean portraiture. Blumenthal also worked as a magazine editor, as well as publishing many books during his life. In the original publisher's paper wrappers. Externally, smart.
