This is the engaging catalogue cum artist's book published in conjunction with a 2001 Works on Paper, Inc. exhibition of drawings from Jeremy Blake's "The Fourty (sic) Million Dollar Beatnik" project. It takes the form of a miniature (6 ¾ x 5 ½") screenplay - down to the green card covers with brass brad binding - reproducing the artist's whimsical texts and images that are reminiscent of a high school journal along with brief essays by Tim Griffin and Dike Blair. A handsome example of this exceedingly uncommon item - only three copies are currently cited in OCLC WorldCat - limited to five hundred unnumbered copies SIGNED "Jeremy Blake / Cell 1-310-980-****" in blue ink on the title page showing some very light wear and soiling to the covers. The artist died with only three monographic titles having been published on his work, and this is the first and only copy we have seen bearing his signature. Signed by the Artist. Artist Monograph.

Fadengehefteter, geprägter und großformatiger Ganzleineneinband im Querformat mit fotografisch gestaltetem Schutzumschlag. Der Umschlag leicht berieben, mit einzelnen Kratzern und etwas knickig, der Kopfschnitt mit kleinem Fleck, Papier bzw. Seitenränder dezent gelbstichig, ansonsten guter Erhaltungszustand. Dirk Reinartz (* 15. September 1947 in Aachen; ? 27. März 2004 in Berlin) war ein deutscher Fotograf. Nach einer Fotografenausbildung beim Fotohaus Preim in Aachen und dem Studium bei Otto Steinert wurde Dirk Reinartz, geboren 1947 in Aachen, 1970 als jüngster Reportagefotograf in der Redaktion des Stern eingestellt. Später arbeitete er für das Nachrichtenmagazin Der Spiegel sowie für Die Zeit, GEO und Life. Die Themen seiner Reportagen waren vorzugsweise dokumentarischer Natur mit deutlichem politischem Bezug zu Deutschland und seiner Geschichte. Nach eigener Aussage wollte er nie mit erhobenem Zeigefinger arbeiten und entwickelte dafür eine eigene künstlerische Bildsprache. Bekannt wurde er mit einer Serie über Bismarck-Denkmale und mit dem eindrucksvollen Zyklus "totenstill" (1994) über ehemalige Konzentrationslager. Reinartz lehrte zuletzt an der Muthesius Kunsthochschule Kiel Fotografie. Bemerkenswert ist auch seine Zusammenarbeit mit dem amerikanischen Bildhauer Richard Serra, dessen Arbeiten er über zwei Jahrzehnte weltweit mit der Kamera begleitete. Er lebte in Buxtehude und ist in Berlin, dem Ort einer seiner letzten großen Ausstellungen, im Alter von 56 Jahren verstorben. Das Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum Aachen zeigte bis 6.
