Vol.1: ix+389, all edges red, 30 figs; 1923-dated sig. to front pastedown, inner sides of endpapers and half-title browning, rear gutter cracking for 6.5 cms from bottom and 2 cms from top, otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked; coversclean and bright but top spine chipped above textblock and some cloth rippling towards bottom front corner (possibly a binding fault), this is the series binding with gilt Sydenham profile logo centre front; Vol.2. half-title+t.p.+ 'Contents'++451, only a few unnumbered text figs, all edges red; end-paper browning as Vol 1 but half-title unaffected, unmarked, gutters good, series covers, a lighter shade of brown than Vol.1, are bright, clean and unworn, very attratcive in fact.
