This charming children's books tells the story of a little girl found by an old couple who were longing for a child. They name this child 'Princess' Penny, due to her tiny size, and set about making her a bed out of a nutshell and a dress out of a flower. The story follows Penny's journey as she turns sixteen. Illustrated throughout by exquisite colour drawings by American artist, Marvin Bileck. In the publisher's original paper-covered boards, with the original, price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart, with light rubbing to the extremities and a little bumping to the spine. Dust wrapper is very good, with light edge wear. Markings to the wrap, with coffee stains to the front and pencil marks to the rear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed. book.
