II backstrip faded to tan with wear at head with slight loss, hinges and board edges a little rubbed, good. Issued to complement Davison's new editions of the poetry of Burns and Beattie, the wood-engravings for all three publications providing a very useful collection of illustrations from which the publisher could draw for later titles including Buffon's System of Natural History.
