Leather scuffed with wear at spine tips and corners. Scattered light foxing; chip to margin p. 55/6 Vol 1 (text unaffected) and 2cm tear at fore-edge of rfep Vol II. A very good set. Revised issue of the earliest Bethune editions, which were the very first editions of the "Angler" published in America, with additions and corrections; issued in two volumes with new title-page for each and including the name of the editor for the first time. The highly regarded Bethune edition is sought after, and this is a handsome example of the numbered large paper copy.
