Frontispiece by Paul F Bernadier. Bright blue boards that have a couple of rub spots to the boards. The FFEP has been cut out. A couple of soil spots to pages 109 - 113. Binding is tight. A good to very good copy.

First Edition Thus. 8vo., 312 pp., G+/G; yellow/orange/green/blue pictorial DJ with black and yellow lettering; mild fading to spine, extant lettering legible, vertical creasing to middle of spine; closed tears and chipping to edges of DJ, with material loss to head and tail of spine, corners, and bottom edge of back cover towards hinge; material loss to head of spine obscures "TANAR" in title; blue and green ink staining to interior of DJ, bleeding through to bottom edge of covers and fore-edge of front cover (a likely repair attempt to disguise material loss); ink staining slightly obscures "METROPOLITAN" logo to tail of spine of DJ; price uncut "$2.00" to top right-hand corner of front flap; DJ protected by mylar; blue cloth boards with black lettering; bumping/chipping/rubbing to head and tail of spine, cocking to spine, vertical crease down middle of spine, boards shaken and slightly cocked, very slight shelf lean, binding sturdy; light wear/scuffing to boards; age-toning, wear, and occasional staining to text-block; age-toning to interior, text clear and legible; notations in pencil to top left-hand corner of back paste-down; "Metropolitan Books" stated to title page; pub. 1930 stated to copyright page. A classic wraparound DJ by Paul F Berdanier. The book is in very good shape with sharp color and dark print, but a light stain (thumb print size) at the bottom fore edge of the pages (doesn't penetrate). The last two pages of the text have a 0.5" closed tear and one of the pages of ads in the rear has some loss at the top corner. The DJ is clear and bright with light edge wear, small loss at the corners of the spine and a 0.5" closed tear at the top center of the front panel. Overall a very good copy.

The DJ, with the classic & romantic Bernadier illustration (one of the best in my opinion), is original. It has been backed with brown paper, has some soiling & darkening, is rubbed at the flap folds and spine hinges, and wear at the edges. A good to very good copy with a classic original DJ.
