Bennett. Frontispiece shows a girl and boy riding the same pony. Numerous other very pretty illustrations printed sepia, some full page. Head and tail of spine and corners slightly rubbed, light rubbing to glaze on edges of covers, prize bookplate on front pastedown dated 1895, occasional very slight fingermarks, one 10 mm (½") closed margin tear. A very good plus copy. Other chromolithograph plates: country dancing; a sweep and milkmaid; the postman; a pedlar showing ribbons to the maidens; 2 nice girls and a sailor; 2 huntsmen in the pink outside The Fox and Grapes with a young serving wench (all portrayed by young children).
