Hardcover. Reprint. Third printing, 1966. 175 p. Illustrations. These drawings and texts, with some modifications, appeared originally in the Sunday Philadelphia bulletin magazine. Foreword by B. A. Bergman. Preface by Russell Lynes. Renowned Philadelphia artist and architect takes on his hometown with pen and ink depictions displaying his characteristic wit. Bendiner's death in 1964 marked the end of a career that included service in two world wars and expeditions with the University of Pennsylvania Museum to Iraq and Guatemala. This is a collection of his writing and drawings that appeared in his weekly column in the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin. Bound in white tweed cloth with black titles and a characiture of the author on the front cover. The author's black and white photo portrait on the back panel shows him seated, sketching and smiling. His pen and ink of Philadelphia's City Hall, with William Penn atop the spire, illustrates the jacket cover. Good in fair dust jacket. Price clipped.
