Esta monografía desarolla un exhaustivo estudio morfológico, anatómico, molecular y sistemático de los ariónidos de la Península Ibérica. El estudio anatómico y morfológico se realizó incorporando topotipos (es decir, ejemplares recogodos en las localidades tipo de las especies) de todas las especies de babosas del género Arion descritas en la Península Ibérica desde que existen registros documentados. En todas las localidades tipo se intentó recoger ejemplates en diferentes fases de desarrollo y en distintas épocas del ano. Los muestreos abarcan de 1980 a 2018 y fueron más intensos en aquellas localidades en las que potencialmente coexisten varias especies de Arion o en las que fueron recogidos los ejemplares tipo de las distintasespecies. Durante esos casi cuarenta anos se recogieron más de 5000 especímenes, fotografiados, anestesiados y conservados in situ. Su determinación especifica se basó en la morfología externa de juveniles y adultos y en la anatomía del sistema genital y estructuras anexas. Además, a partir del ano 2015 se recogieron ejemplares con el objetivo de estudiar las relaciones evolutivas entre las distintas especies. This monograph presents a comprehensive morphological, anatomical, molecular, and systematic study of the slugs of the Iberian Peninsula. The anatomical and morphological study was conducted using topotypes (i.e., specimens collected from the type localities of the species) of all slug species of the genus Arion described in the Iberian Peninsula since documented records began. At each type locality, specimens were collected at different stages of development and at different times of the year. Sampling spanned from 1980 to 2018 and was more intensive in localities where several Arion species potentially coexist or where the type specimens of the different species were collected. During these nearly forty years, more than 5,000 specimens were collected, photographed, anesthetized, and preserved in situ. Its specific identification was based on the external morphology of juveniles and adults and on the anatomy of the genital system and associated structures. Furthermore, from 2015 onwards, specimens were collected to study the evolutionary relationships between the different species.
