Cloth. Zustand: Very Good Indeed. None (illustrator). A first edition of the translation of this Australian diplomat's travelogue, translated by Lady Herbert and published by Macmillan and Co. in 1874. First published in 1871 under the title 'Promenade au Tour du Monde', after its author had made extensive world travels, this was a rather popular work due to its humorous and light-hearted style and well-observed nature. This work follows his travels through the Americas, Japan and China.Count Joseph Alexander Hubner (1811-1892) was an Austrian diplomat, who quit his post to travel four years before the publication of this work.Translated by Lady Herbert in 1874; this is a first English edition.Complete in two volumes. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally very smart, with some slight wear to the head and tail of each spine resulting in a little discolouration to the cloth. Internally firmly bound, pages are generally bright and clean with just the odd spot. Very Good Indeed. book.
