Brossura muta in cartoncino mille righe ben conservato, protetta da sovraccoperta di carta monocolore che mostra leggera usura lungo i bordi, strappetto a quello superiore. Hyperbole est dictio jidem veritatis excedens [sive sententia] augendi minuendive gratia: augendi, ut nive candidior, velocior Euro: minuendi, sicut tardior testudine leviorque foliis; item ut extractam puteo situlam qui ponit in horto ulterius standi non habet ipse locum; item ut est apud Vergilium (Aen. 7, 808-811): illa vel intactae segetis per summa volaret gramina nec teneras cursu laesisset aristas, vel mare per medium fluctus suspensa tumentis ferret iter, cursu non tingueret aequore plantas. Die Lobrede, die der Grammatiker Priscian zu Ehren des Kaisers Anastasius I. deklamierte höchstwahrscheinlich während der religiösen und weltlichen Feiern, die im Herbst 513 n. Chr. In Konstantinopel stattfanden - besteht aus 312 Hexametern, denen eine Praefatio aus 22 jambischen Trimetern vorangeht. Unter dem Titel De laude Anastasii imperatoris ist das Gedicht vollständig im Neapler Kodex, Biblioteca Nazionale, lat.2 (ehem. Vindob. 16), ff. 50ra-52va und nur zum Teil im Berner Kodex, Burgerbibliothek, 363, f. 195ra-b überliefert. Grundlegend ist noch immer die kritische Edition von Baehrens Poetae Latini minores, 5, Lipsiae 1883, 262 und 264- 274. In den vorliegenden Konkordanzen werden die Ergebnisse der gesamten Spezialliteratur berücksichtigt, die sich auf die Lobrede Priscians bezieht, von der editio princeps, die 1828 von S.L.
