Hardcover. Zustand: VG-Fine. 1st ed. 164 pp., 375 text figs; a black cloth private library binding 'From the A.E.Le Gros Collection' according to a stamp on a bound in rear endpaper. The condition of the text is excellent but it has been very extensively annotated in both ink and pencil by Le Gros (whose signature appears on the half-title), there is also a smaller bound-in leaf between pp.2/3 with a journal reference. These annotations are so detailed and learned that they must be considered a positive feature of this copy. I have only identified a few citations of A.E.Le Gros on a quick googling, all on entomology and from the same period, one gives his address as in Wellington, Shropshire (1950). . The black, gilt-lettered, covers are immaculate. Unsurprisingly scarce - and a little surprising - given date and location of publication. Issued under the auspices of the Federation Francaise des Societes de Science Naturelles Office Centrale de Faunistique and presumably one of series of similar mongraphs. Note: quoted shipping rates are calculated for 500-700 gram net weight, cost will be modified up or down as appropriate outside this range.
