Edited with an introduction by Michael Edwardes; illustrations by B.S. Biro. The book and slipcase have no discernible faults; book appears to be unread. No issues with the brown slipcase. Full pale brown canvas with etching design in black, endleaves illustrated with the coats of arms of George ll and the East India Company. Val Biro's 14 scraperboard illustrations, 2 cartouches, 11 headpieces and the title page vignette. The etching used on the binding shows Fort Saint George at Madras and was made around the time Corneille was in India. 184pp, 8vo -218cms x 146 cms, 7¾" - 9¾". Folio Society number 220. The frontispiece reproduces a page of the original manuscript, which was compiled between 1754 and 1757.
