Sarg was "America's Puppet Master," head of his own traveling puppet company that performed classic stories with his expressive marionettes. A December 1930 review of the ALICE show, published just a month before this performance of 31 January 1931, describes the show: "Carved out of the pages and the Tenniel illustrations of 'Alice in Wonderland,' they set some of the most illustrious personages of modern civilization to jigging and to speaking." 8.75'' x 6''.
