Schönes, frühes Eisenbahnkinderbuch. Die Tafeln jeweils mit vier Illustrationen, denen zweizeilige Verse auf den gegenüberliegenden Textseiten entsprechen. Der Schlussvers (Buchstabe "Z") ohne Eisenbahn- und Bildbezug. In unserer Version ist der Himmel in den Darstellungen stets nachtschwarz. Es gibt auch (spätere) Ausgaben mit blauem Himmel. Auch die Reime wurden später offenbar verändert. Zur Datierung: Das Buch muss zwischen 1862 und 1865 erschienen sein, denn auf dem vorderen Spiegel findet sich eine Widmung vom Januar 1866 und auf dem Bild zum Buchstaben "Q" ist Queen Victoria bereits in Trauerkleidung abgebildet. - Etwas gebräunt u. stockfleckig, am Rand häufig mit Griffspuren. Das Bild zum Buchstaben "M" (Postwaggon) mit langem, geklebtem Riss, das Textblatt "J - M" mit Randausrissen.
