1838. (hardcover) Good to very good. 683pp; 615pp. Two volumes. Short 8vo. From the library of Timothy Clogan, with his rubber-stamp to first page of each volume, dated 1908. This set re-bound, presumably by Clogan given the period. Quarter-leather over mottled-marbled boards. Spines ruled in gilt, title and volume number in gilt. Spines significantly sunned from dark green to light brown. Boards rubbed, with wear at extremities; surface loss to leather at head and heel of spine. Edges black speckled. Marbled EPs. First and last blanco each toned in both volumes, owing to acidity in re-bound EPs; likewise, some foxing early and late. Else the vast majority of the textblock is surprisingly bright, free of age-toning or any additional foxing. A few marginal marks in pencil, else clean. Text in French.
