Taft (1889 - 1953) served as a United States Senator representing Ohio from 1939 until his death. Known for his conservative stance, Taft was part of the influential Taft political family and was the elder son of William Howard Taft, the 27th President of the United States. Taft sought the republican nomination for president in 1940, 1948 and 1952, eventually losing to General Dwight D. Eisenhower. Signed.

This guestbook began at the French Film Festival in Birmingham, England in 1957, but it is unclear where it was held afterwards. This work includes the signatures of the following Prime Ministers: Prime Minister Clement Attlee, Prime Minister Anthony Eden (and Lady Eden), Prime Minister Harold Macmillan (and Lady Dorothy Macmillan), and Prime Minister Alec Douglas-Home (and Elizabeth Home). Foreign Secretaries: Yugoslav Ambassador Ivo Vejvoda, German Ambassador Hans von Herwarth, Soviet Ambassador Yakov Malik, Gen. Cortland V.R. Schuyler (Chief of Staff, SHAPE), and Chief Minister of Gujarat, Jivraj Narayan Mehta. This book is also signed by the Honorable Richard Attenborough in 1960.
