A raíz del año 2000, Aspe Armella transitó hacia temas de filosofía en México publicando la obra Las aporías fundamentales del periodo novohispano. CONACULTA, México, 2002, y desde entonces, tiene la cátedra de filosofía en México en la facultad de filosofía de la universidad Panamericana. También imparte clases de filosofía en el posgrado de filosofía de la UNAM. Su trabajo se caracteriza por incluir a investigadores de universidades públicas de México como de la UAM, UNAM, UAZ, UASLP y COLMEX desde las cuales ha producido libros referentes de la filosofía de México y España como el de Francisco de Vitoria y su influencia en Nueva España, EUNSA, 2016 y el que actualmente se presenta aquí. En este año 2018 Virginia Aspe presentó un libro de largo aliento titulado Aristóteles y Nueva España, eds. Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, con el que prueba su dominio de la filosofía antigua y novohispana. En los últimos años, Aspe Armella ha transitado hacia universidades norteamericanas para establecer un diálogo entre tradiciones filosóficas. El libro que aquí se presenta reúne a filósofos de universidades de Europa y México convocados para rastrear qué es y qué han sido las utopías en América después de las contribuciones de Tomás Moro. This book analyses the works of Alonso de la Veracruz, Bartolomé de las Casas, Bernardino de Sahagún, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Carlos de Sigüenza y Góngora, and Francisco Xavier Clavijero, reconsidering them in light of the history of ideas in New Spain and the contributions of Byzantine translators. It also offers a reflection on the problem of addressing Mexican colonial sources.This volume will be of interest to undergraduate and postgraduate philosophy students, as well as to researchers focused on Aristotle, Renaissance philosophy, or Latin American studies.
