Signed by Graham on the half-title page. Black dialect stories set in Kansas. Graham was a suffragette and math teacher who was allegedly a friend of Mark Twain?s. Fred J. Arting did the illustrations for Edgar Rice Burrough?s ?Tarzan Of The Apes,? published by the same publisher, A.C. McClurg, in 1914. Signed.

The DJ illustration and frontispiece are by Fred J Arting with the DJ being a color adaption the classic of Tarzan in silhouette. The book is in very good shape with bright red boards and sharp black lettering. The binding is tight and the text block is clean. The is wrinkling near to top of the fore edge of the first few pages. The DJ is fairly bright with some edge & corner wear, small loss at the top of the spine, and rubbing to the spine hinges. There is a 2.75" x 1" piece missing at the bottom of the spine.A good to very good copy of an early Tarzan reprint.
