Sein Pilgertagebuch erscheint im ,Heiligen Jakobsjahr" 2010, einem Jahr, in dem der Jakobus-Festtag auf einen Sonntag fallt. Die Reise begann in Reinach bei Basel und fuhrte uber rund 2'250 km durch den Schweizer Jura, Frankreich und Spanien nach Santiago de Compostela. Die Aufzeichnungen sind reichhaltig mit 440 vierfarbigen Bildern erganzt und bieten Einblicke in beeindruckende Landschaften, kunsthistorische Schatze sowie aussergewohnliche Begegnungen mit Einheimischen und anderen Pilgern. Der standige Wechsel von Szenen und Personen schafft einen geschlossenen Kosmos, der Parallelen zum eigenen Lebensverlauf zulasst und zum Nachdenken anregt. Der Autor schildert die Pilgerstrapazen - Hunger, Durst, schmerzende Fusse und lange Tagesmarsche - ohne Heroisierung, wahrend die Freude an der Wanderung durch die herbstliche Landschaft ungebrochen bleibt. Das Tagebuch, das den Leser zunehmend zum ,Mitwanderer" werden lasst, aussert sich zuruckhaltend zu religiosen Motivationen.
