Light spotting to tissue guards and occasional leaves of plates, otherwise pages bright and clean. In spite of the numerous small flaws, the set looks handsome; the worst deficit is the foxing, which affects every plate at least somewhat. The photography, and the printing of the photos, is quite excellent. Each photo-plate has an onionskin interleaf.

First Edition. Very good copies all in the original gilt-blocked cloth-backed fine-ribbed cloth boards. Spine bands and panel edges somewhat rubbed and dust-toned as with age (with a small tear to the spine bottom of the 1930 volume).
