Held from 25 August to 11 September 1960, the Games of the XVII Olympiad was hosted by Rome Italy; the 1960 Summer Olympics was won by the Soviet Union USSR (103 medals) with USA (71 medals) in second place and Italy (36 medals) in third place. This poster was the winning design in a competition held by the Olympic Arts Committee under the guidelines of the Italian National Olympic Committee CONI published in 11 languages.
