LP Record in Jacket. Zustand: Very Good. Turnabout QTV-S 34629. One of the great "old school" violinsts here gives persuasive performances of regrettably seldom-heard gems of the late Romantic Era. The Arensky Concerto (1900) is dedicated to Leopold Auer. The Rimsky-Korsakov Fantasy on Two Russian Themes (1887) was later revised and elaborated by Leopold Auer. The Wieniawski Concert Polonaise (1852-53) displays a level of virtuosity and understanding of the instrument that only a great performr-composer could produce. Contains informative Liner Notes by Richard Freed. CONDITION: Overall Very Good Minus, I'd say, to be safe. The Arensky Concerto side has moderate surface noise, including occasional pops and crackles (less so as the side progresses); the Rimsky-Korsakov track has moderate surface noise, but fewer pops and crackles; the fuller-textured Wieniawski sounds the cleanest of the three. Its jacket has some edge- and corner-wear, as well as some ring-wear, but is unmarked, uncreased, and has no edge-splits The LP is now in a new audiophile inner sleeve (replacing the plain original) and the entire album is nestled in a strong mylar outer sleeve. It will be cleaned again before being securely packed and promptly shipped, domestically (USA) and internationally.

Every publication is dedicated to either the Russian or European music from classics to nowadays. Editors' main objective is the complete publication of opera scenes and arias useful to both conceit and educational practice. The other way of sorting is based on voices scale (from soprano up to basso). Meanwhile every specified collection includes several vocal pieces without any timbre definition. Many scenes and arias are given as full versions with prior recitatives and introductions, so as finals and their performing variants. Several variants are adduced, if both pre-revolution and Soviet librettos are used, and distinguished vocalists' interpretations are well-known. Convenient transliteration is offered for foreign users (taking into consideration both spelling and pronunciation). XIX - early XX" is the educational aid on the subject "History of the Russian Choir Music" intended for the students of the choir-conducting departments at the conservatoires, music colleges and art institutes. The Anthology consists of twenty issues, every one of which is devoted correspondingly to the composers, having made profound contribution to the Russian choral music. The collection may be con-sidered rather unique, because it includes all secular choral opuses a cappella, even those, which either had never been published, or hadn't been edited since the pre-revolution time. Every issue is opened by the preface narrating about this or that composer's creative peculiarities. Combined in one whole and disposed according to the chronology, these essays may be accepted as one of the parts from the lectures of the "History of the Russian Choir Music". Every issue contains the supplements, where the lyrics are adduced originally without any cuts. Every issue is provided with audio CD, where the Petersburg Chamber Choir conducted by Nikolai Kornev performs the choruses published inside.
