Three unique postcard works by Stephen Antonakos, sent from Berlin to Ira Licht at the Lowe Art Museum in Miami. Antonakos had moved with his family for a six-month period to Berlin in the framework of a DAAD stipend, where he began to work on large coloured-paper collages for the first time and simultaneously further developed…the ?Cuts? he had already created in the 1970s. Each of the postcards here from Berlin follow this example, one with a yellow cut-out collage section, and the others with circular or linear cuts. Each stamped by the artist on the verso with his name and the date of execution: Jan 28, Mar 8, May 12, 1980.
