It gives me the greatest pleasure that you + mrs Millar approve of my first effort in fiction. I only hope my next will not disappoint you. Meanwhile I think I shall be able to place somes short stories + magazine articles to keep my name from being forgotten. I shall go there on these alternate days in the week from about 9.30 to 4. On the other days I shall do some reading at the British Museum for which I have obtained the necessary ticket. If it had not been for Geo I don't think I should have had courage to make such a revolution in my life. It is true he did not consuel me to go to the entire animal as I have done, but I felt mine was not the case for half measure. I am only afraid that I may not be able in the future to go beyond or even maintain the standard I have aimed at 'Vice Versa'. So far it has met with an unexpectedly kind reception + reviews are only too apt to follow good fortune of this kind. Still I mean to do my very best and at all events my prospects are brighter than they were at the Bar. Thank you and Mrs Millar once more for our kind wishes. Believe me, very sincerely yours, T. Pp.3-36 have a very small stain on the bottom right corners, toning to edges of textblock, some toning to white title label. Very good. Bleiler states in 'The Guide to Supernatural Fiction' that 'Tourmalin's Time Cheques' is a 'short fantasy novel, one of the earliest to deal with disrupted time sequences'. The protagonist of the story (Tourmalin) invests some money in a time bank. He is able to cash his 'time cheques' in whenever he wants, into any clock; he often uses the time to escape from his 'domineering fiancé'. However, the cheques are not in sequence which often leaves Tourmalin confused about what has happened and what is about to happen.
