This book's charm is enhanced considerably by its four coloured plates including the frontispiece as well as numerous black and white illustrations throughout the text. Designed and illustrated by Edward Andrewes. The author Annette Mills wrote the Muffin the Mule books which were televised for children. In this story , the inhabitants of the village of Much Winding are all cars, apart from Mags the Mechanic who looks after them.
