The dust jacket is chipped with several tears and pieces torn from the edges including a larger piece torn out from the inner edge of the jacket's front panel. 21 pages of text, illustrated with a frontispiece and 102 pages of illustrations, including several full-page black & white and color illustrations. There is some offsetting to the endpapers and pastedowns and occasional minor creases to the corners. Very good in a fair dust wrapper. Andrey Dmitrievich Chegodaev ( 1905 -1994 ) Was A Soviet And Russian Art Historian , Art Critic , Museum Worker, Teacher, Doctor Of Art History; He Was A Specialist In The Field Of Russian And Western Art Of The New Age, And A Collector. Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Deyneka (Russian: ?????????? ?????????????? ????????; 1899 -1969) Was A Soviet And Russian Painter, Graphic Artist And Sculptor, Regarded As One Of The Most Important Russian Modernist Figurative Painters Of The First Half Of The 20Th Century. His Collective Farmer On A Bicycle (1935) Has Been Described As Exemplifying The Socialist Realist Style.Deyneka Was Born In Kursk And Studied At Kharkov Art College (Pupil Of Alexander Lubimov) And At Vkhutemas. He Was A Founding Member Of Groups Such As Ost And Oktyabr, And His Work Gained Wide Exposure In Major Exhibitions.
