Les mesures des processus érosifs ont été réalisées par deux méthodes complémentaires : (i) analyses physico-chimiques et chimiques des eaux superficielles; (ii) mesure de la production in situ de l¿élément cosmogénique 10Be dans les sédiments fluviaux et dans les roches et les filons de quartz superficiels. Les résultats démontrent quantitativement l¿existence d¿une dénudation différentielle que contrôle l¿evolution du relief où : les quartzites et les itabirites sont les roches les plus résistantes, les schistes, phyllithes et les granites-gneiss ont une résistance moyenne, et les marbres et les dolomites sont les plus fragiles. Les résultats montrent aussi que les sommets de versants sont érodés moins intensément que les fonds de vallée. Cela indique que le relief régional est en train d¿être disséqué.
