The photographic albums date from 1888 through the first two decades of the twentieth century.He was not a photographer by profession, he was a railway superintendent and bank president.enjoyed a special closeness to his daughters as their progress from infancy to childhood is revealed through a series of photographs which are vibrant with spontaneity and charm. Methods of travel held a fascination for him as he photographed the two great movers of the century, the locomotive and the steamship. Less imposing modes of transportation including bicycles, goatcarts, stagecoaches, buses, wagons, sailboats, and rolling chairs are also recorded, from a tender portrait of his eldest daughter cradling the family pet we are transported to the hustle and bustle of the newly constructed Brooklyn Bridge. An insightful moment is captured by Fry's lens as J. P.
