A remarkable visual chronicle from one of the 20th centurys most influential photographers, best known for his iconic work with Life magazine. This copy retains its original dust jacket, not price clipped, still displaying the 1969 issue price, an increasingly desirable feature for collectors. The dust jacket is in fair condition, showing edge wear, small rips, and tears consistent with age and handling. Despite these flaws, it remains fully present and protective. The book itself is in very good condition. The blue cloth boards are clean and unblemished, with only the slightest hint of bumping at the edges. The spine is tight, straight, and fully intact. The interior is clean and free of writing or highlighting, with the exception of a previous owners name and the date 8/25/1969 on the front endpaper. It is a charming period inscription placing the book in its year of publication. A few small interior stains are present but minor and they do not affect the photographs or interfere with readability. A highly collectible first printing from the year of publication, combining photographic history, cultural documentation, and mid century publishing appeal.
