Stanley Windrush is once again at the centre of things. He's looking for a job and things keep going wrong. Finally, under the advice of his Uncle Bertie Tracepurcel, he decides to apply for an unskilled factory job. Written by Alan Charles Langley Hackney, an English novelist and screenwriter. He is best known for two of his novels, Private's Progress and Private Life, both of which were adapted into Boulting brothers films: the former as Private's Progress (1956); and the latter as I'm All Right Jack (1959). In the original full cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with light wear and sunning to the extremities. The odd small mark to the panels with the odd small closed tear to the panel edges. A contemporary ink note to the front fly leaf. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean.
