Welcome to Yemen was originally produced as a country post report for the benefit of UNICEF staff members about to be assigned to Yemen. The original idea was to provide as much background Information as possible, to assist families to settle into their new and unfamiliar surroundings without too many difficulties. However, the booklet has since evolved into a source of general and practical Information for a wider group of people who have the privilege to live and work in the Republic of Yemen. The first edition of Welcome to Yemen proved so populär, and obviously filled a need in the community, that this second revised edition has been produced. We apologize if you find any of the Information out of date. It is difficult to keep pace with the constantly changing living conditions and new developments taking place. UNICEF would therefore be very pleased to receive your comments and suggestions to improve the contents of the booklet. We would particularly welcome Information on new Services, ventures, places to visit and your opinions on facilities, and general tips on living in Yemen.
