Original brown blind-stamped, bevel-edge cloth, gilt with a shield in blue and gilt on the upper cover, black endpapers. Slight rippling of cloth, relevant pencil notes on verso of front free end-paper otherwise a near fine completely unopened copy. He served as Commander-in-Chief of the forces under William of Orange and was appointed Lord Justice of Ireland in 1697. First edition.

Limited edition of 50 copies, this being no. 37, printed in 2003 by Paul Minet of Piccadilly Rare Books, a very nice facs of the 1886 3rd edition, the only sign of the reprint being the small slip of paper tipped into the dedication page. Colored frontispice in each volume. Vol I is refugees naturalized before 1681 and Vol II those in and after 1681. Very scarce, not in WorldCat. Handsome dark brown cloth small folios with gilt to the spines. Slight bump to the corners, small bump to the top of one spine and to the top and bottom edges of each book, appears to be a storage mark. Interiors have a bold blue ink owner inscript in each, otherwise clean and fresh. A heavy set. Printed by Paul Minet, the noted proprietor of Piccadilly Rare Books in East Sussex, and trustee of the Hugeunot Society.; Folio 13" - 23" tall; 1005 pages.
