First edition. 128pp. Christopher Addison, 1st Viscount Addison (1869-1951), was a British doctor and politician. A member of the Liberal and Labour parties, he served as Minister of Munitions during the First World War and was later Minis…ter of Health under David Lloyd George. He lost his seat in the 1922 general election. His belief in social reform and progressive policies brought him close to the socialism of the Labour Party, and he campaigned for Labour candidates at the 1923 general election.He published several books, including the present work on the link between poor housing and poor health. The book is bound in the original tan cloth covered boards with brown titling on the spine and front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear to the boards and light bumping to the spine ends. There are some creases running down the middle of the cloth on the rear board but this seems to be a production fault and not damage from use. Slight foxing to the fore edge. The contents are tight and clean with browning to the free endpaper and a small name label with a lengthy inscription on the front free endpaper.
