Wouter Van Acker is an engineer-architect and associate professor at the Faculty of Architecture (La Cambre Horta), ULB, Brussels.; Der ursprünglich aus der Literaturtheorie stammende Begriff 'degree zero' (Nullpunkt) hat sich seit den 1960er Jahren als Topos der Architekturtheorie und -kritik etabliert. Entwickelt hat ihn Roland Barthes in seinem einflussreichen Buch Am Nullpunkt der Literatur, später wurde er zum Tool in der diskursiven und konzeptuellen Formulierung verschiedenster architektonischer Praktiken (ob projektbezogen, theoretisch, spekulativ, kritisch oder akademisch).
