28 lines on three sides of a folded embossed 8vo sheet. A lovely letter from Thomas Woolner, 1825-1892, English sculptor, poet and founding member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. He writes affectionately to 'My dear Bright' (who does not appear in Woolner's Life in Letters) thanking him (presumably) for his letter and describing his wife's worry for want of servants. '[My] wife is going on well, but sadly worried for want of servants - chiefly a cook - cannot even hear of one, and can get no advertisement answered'. A close friend of Alfred Tennyson, Woolner discusses the prospect of giving the Poet Laureate a book: 'I am sure Tennyson would be pleased with a Burns - better you should send it direct, A.T Farringford, Freshwater, I.O. Wight. Send a note, and if you feel any shyness mention me and say I asked you to sent it'. PLEASE NOTE: For customers within the UK this item is subject to VAT.
Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. First edition. Blue cloth decorated in gilt. Unopened. Pencil name, a small spot on the rear board, and a little light wear on the boards, a tight, very good plus copy. Epic poem by one of the founding-members of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Scarce.
